Neuromodulation & TMS

Neuromodulation & Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) in London

Our Neuromodulation & TMS Unit offers non-invasive brain stimulation treatments for mental health conditions and general wellbeing. Neuromodulation is an advanced medical field that uses non-invasive technology to alter or regulate nerve activity by delivering targeted stimulation directly to the brain, spinal cord, or peripheral nerves.

Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is the most extensively researched and evidence-based neuromodulation technique. TMS is a non-invasive treatment that uses precisely targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood, emotional regulation and cognitive function. TMS is recommended by NICE for treatment-resistant depression, and a growing body of evidence supports its use in other conditions including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and binge eating.

Our TMS programme is led by Professor Valerie Voon, Professor of Neuropsychiatry and Neuromodulation at the University of Cambridge, whose research has directly shaped the protocols we use. We offer several evidence-based TMS protocols for depression and OCD, as well as a TMS Exomind device designed for wellness and performance applications.

All treatments are delivered in a safe, structured environment following a comprehensive psychiatric assessment, and are integrated into a broader treatment plan tailored to your individual needs.

Who this is for

TMS may be worth exploring if:

TMS is not a first-line treatment. It’s typically most relevant for people who have tried other approaches (medication, therapy, or both) and are looking for something more.

  • Depression that hasn’t improved

Feeling low for a long time, despite trying medication or therapy and wondering if there’s something else that might help.

  • Ongoing OCD or anxiety

Intrusive thoughts, compulsions or persistent anxiety that continue to affect daily life and are hard to manage.

  • Side effects limiting options

Finding that medication hasn’t suited you (whether due to side effects or incomplete relief) and looking for a different approach.

  • Medication-free treatment

Preferring a non-medication route, or looking to complement existing treatment with something that works differently.

  • Needing results quickly

If waiting weeks or months for improvement isn’t an option, our accelerated protocols may help reduce symptoms quickly.

  • Wellness and performance

Curiosity in how TMS technology can support wellbeing and sleep through non-clinical protocols via our Exomind programme.
