Specialist trauma therapy and PTSD support in London and online
Our Trauma Unit provides specialist support for people who have been through a deeply difficult experience. Whether that’s a single traumatic event, a pattern of difficult experiences over time, or something that happened in childhood that still affects you today.
Trauma can show up in many different ways. For some people it’s vivid and overwhelming, with flashbacks, nightmares, and a constant sense of dread. For others it’s quieter, a feeling of being disconnected, struggling in relationships, or not quite understanding why certain things feel so hard. Many people live with the effects of trauma for years without ever putting a name to it.
We work at your pace. Before anything else, we focus on helping you feel safe and understood. Our team brings together clinical expertise and genuine compassion, and we take the time to understand your story, not just your symptoms.
You don’t need a diagnosis to reach out. If something from your past is making your present harder, we’re here to help.
We can help if you are experiencing:
Trauma can be difficult to recognise in yourself and others, particularly when symptoms have developed gradually, or when experiences happened a long time ago.

Distressing and unwanted recollections of a traumatic experience that break into daily life through images, sensations or dreams.
Feeling on edge, anxious or easily overwhelmed
A persistent sense of threat or danger, even in safe situations — including difficulty relaxing, sleeping, or concentrating.
Emotional numbness or disconnection
Feeling cut off from your emotions, from other people, or from your own sense of self, sometimes as a way of managing overwhelming experiences.
Difficulties with trust, relationships or feeling safe
Finding it hard to feel close to others, or noticing patterns in relationships that feel difficult to change or understand.
Low mood, shame or low self-esteem
Persistent feelings of worthlessness, guilt or self-blame that may be connected to difficult experiences in your past or present.

Feeling detached from yourself or your surroundings, or experiencing memory gaps or a sense that the world isn’t quite real.

“Difficult experiences like trauma, loss or challenging circumstances can cause people to develop coping strategies that, although adaptive at the time, become unhelpful later in life. We specialise in helping people understand and uncover the beliefs and fears that shape how they experience and live in the world.”
