Addictions

Specialist addiction assessment, therapy and support in London and online

Our Addictions Unit brings together psychiatrists, psychologists and specialist therapists with extensive experience supporting people through substance and behavioural addictions.

We understand that addiction is rarely about the substance or behaviour alone. Most people we see are managing something underneath it. Stress, trauma, anxiety, low mood, or a pattern that began as a way of coping and became harder to control over time. You don’t have to understand it fully to reach out. Many people come to us unsure of where to start.

Our approach is holistic, evidence-based and tailored to each individual. We focus not just on reducing or stopping the behaviour, but on understanding what is driving it and supporting lasting change. Our holistic treatment plans include a combination of psychiatric expertise, psychological therapy and behavioural strategies.

All assessments and treatment are confidential. We work with adults seeking support for themselves, and with families who are concerned about someone they love.

Who this is for

It may be time to reach out if:

We can help if you or someone you care about is experiencing early signs of misuse, or if you have been struggling for a long time and feel like you have already tried everything else.

  • Difficulty controlling alcohol or substance use

Finding it hard to cut down or stop, even when one wants to, or when it’s causing problems.

  • Repeated patterns of relapse or dependence

A cycle of stopping and starting that feels frustrating and hard to break on your own.

  • Compulsive behaviours

Gambling, gaming, pornography or other behaviours that feel out of control or are affecting your life.

  • Using substances to cope

Relying on alcohol, drugs or other behaviours to manage stress, anxiety, low mood or difficult emotions.

  • Impact on relationships, work or health

Noticing that your use is affecting the people around you, your performance at work, or how you feel physically.

  • Feelings of shame, guilt or loss of control

A persistent sense that something is wrong, but not knowing how to talk about it or where to turn.

We support individuals with:

“When someone begins treatment for an addiction, they typically feel scared, ashamed and alone. Therapy is a safe and confidential place where we work together so you don’t have to struggle alone anymore.”
