Psychiatry of Later Life

Specialist older people’s mental health support in London and online

Supporting mental health, independence and quality of life in later life

Our Psychiatry of Later Life Unit provides specialist assessment and support for the mental health needs of older people, including those living with dementia, depression, anxiety, cognitive change and complex presentations linked to physical health or life circumstances.

Later life can bring both meaningful opportunities and real challenges. Changes in health, memory, independence or relationships can have a profound effect on emotional wellbeing and day-to-day functioning. These changes often go unaddressed, or are put down simply to ageing.

Our approach is compassionate, thorough and personalised. We take the time to understand each person’s medical history, psychological needs and social context, offering clear guidance and tailored support that promotes dignity, independence and quality of life.

We also work closely with families and carers, recognising how much they carry and how much they can benefit from guidance and support themselves.
