Dr Edward Caddye

Clinical Fellow in Metabolic Psychiatry

I am a doctor specialising in psychiatry, with a particular focus on metabolic psychiatry and the role of physical health in mental wellbeing. My work brings together psychiatry, neuroscience and metabolism, with an emphasis on understanding how factors such as nutrition, energy metabolism, inflammation and lifestyle can influence mood, cognition and emotional regulation.

Under the umbrella of the Metabolic Psychiatry Unit, I support the KetoMind service at London Psychiatry Clinic. This approach draws on emerging evidence in metabolic psychiatry, including the use of nutritional strategies such as ketogenic interventions, to support brain function and mental health. It may be considered for individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, low energy, brain fog, or difficulties with focus and emotional stability, particularly where conventional treatments have not been fully effective.

I aim to provide a thoughtful and personalised approach, taking into account both mental and physical health. This includes careful assessment of symptoms, lifestyle, medical background and individual goals, so that recommendations feel practical, realistic and tailored to each person.

My background includes training in biochemistry, medicine and psychiatry, alongside research in clinical neuroscience and metabolic psychiatry. I have a strong interest in how advances in science can be translated into meaningful, accessible care that supports long-term wellbeing.

My Approach

Whole-person assessment

I take a comprehensive approach that considers both mental and physical health. This includes exploring symptoms alongside factors such as nutrition, sleep, metabolic health, hormones and lifestyle, to build a clear and balanced understanding of each individual.

KetoMind and metabolic psychiatry

My work in metabolic psychiatry focuses on how changes in energy metabolism and brain function can influence mental health. Through the KetoMind approach, I support patients in exploring structured, evidence-informed nutritional and lifestyle strategies, including ketogenic interventions where appropriate. This approach aims to support brain energy, mood stability and cognitive function, as part of a broader, personalised care plan.

Integrating science into clinical care

I draw on current research in neuroscience, metabolism and psychiatry to inform treatment recommendations. My aim is to translate complex scientific insights into clear, practical guidance that can be applied in everyday life.

Collaborative and supportive care

I aim to create a space where patients feel listened to and understood. Care is collaborative, with time to explore options, answer questions and develop a plan that feels manageable and aligned with each person’s needs.
