Dr Danny Isaacs

Dr Danny Isaacs

Psychotherapist and Performance Coach

Introduction

I’m Dr Danny Isaacs, a Psychotherapist with over 12 years of experience supporting children, teenagers, and young adults with their mental health. I trained at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust, one of the UK’s leading centres for child and adolescent psychotherapy. My approach is warm, reflective, and grounded in psychoanalytic thinking, which means I help people explore the deeper emotional patterns that might be affecting their well-being or relationships.

In addition to therapy, I also offer performance coaching for athletes, creatives, and professionals. As a competitive triathlete who has represented Great Britain, I understand the emotional and psychological pressure that can come with striving to succeed. I work with individuals and teams to help them perform at their best, while also taking care of their mental and emotional health.

My work brings together everything I’ve learned as a therapist, a coach, and an athlete. I have a particular interest in how stress, emotions, and mental health can affect the body. I’m passionate about helping people understand themselves better and helping them reach their full potential.

My approach

Psychoanalytic and Relational Approach

‍I work collaboratively with children and young adults to explore the emotional and relational dynamics that shape how they see themselves and connect with others. My approach is grounded in psychoanalytic thinking and aims to build insight, emotional resilience, and a stronger sense of self. By creating a reflective and supportive space, I help individuals understand the roots of their difficulties and feel more equipped to navigate life’s challenges.

Performance Coaching for Athletes

‍Drawing on my own experience as an elite endurance athlete, I offer psychoanalytically informed performance coaching tailored to the unique psychological demands of sport. I’ve represented Great Britain at multiple World and European triathlon championships, including the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. My coaching integrates emotional regulation, resilience-building, and mental health support, whether I’m working with Olympic development athletes, professional triathletes, elite runners, or young adults navigating the pressures of high-level competition.
‍

Performance Psychology Coaching

‍I help individuals understand the emotional dynamics that influence their performance through tailored coaching. Whether in sport, education, or the workplace, I aim to foster sustainable success grounded in psychological well-being.
‍

Flexible and Inclusive Support

‍I offer both online and in-person appointments to ensure care is accessible and fits around your needs. My approach is inclusive, adaptable, and grounded in respect for each individual’s context. I have experience working with a wide range of people, including adolescents navigating complex emotional landscapes and professionals managing high-pressure environments. Wherever you’re starting from, I aim to provide a supportive space that meets you where you are.
