My approach
Careful and Comprehensive Assessment
I take a thorough and developmental approach to assessment. This involves understanding early history, current strengths and challenges, and the broader context of family, education or work. Where appropriate, I use gold-standard diagnostic tools such as the ADOS-2 and ADI-R, alongside clinical interviews and collateral information, to ensure conclusions are balanced and evidence-based.
Expertise in Female Autism and ADHD Presentations
I have specialist experience in assessing females for autism and/or ADHD, where difficulties can be more subtle, masked, or misunderstood over time. I take care to explore developmental history, coping strategies, and day-to-day impact, so conclusions are thoughtful, balanced and clinically robust.
Collaborative and Respectful Practice
Assessment and therapy are most effective when they feel collaborative. I aim to create a space in which children, young people and adults feel listened to and understood. Feedback is provided clearly and sensitively, with time for reflection and questions.
Practical and Individualised Recommendations
My reports and recommendations are designed to be useful in everyday life. This may include guidance for education or workplace settings, strategies to support executive functioning and emotional regulation, and, where appropriate, therapeutic input.
