My approach
Specialist in Neurodevelopmental Conditions
I have extensive experience supporting children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, autism, tic disorders, and complex developmental profiles. My work in specialist clinics at St Thomas’ Hospital and the Maudsley has deepened my expertise in diagnostic assessment and formulation for young people with overlapping symptoms and complex presentations. I am trained in a range of gold-standard diagnostic tools, that help us build a robust, nuanced understanding of your child’s needs and guide the most effective intervention plan.
Working with Young People
When working with children and teenagers, I take a flexible and engaging approach that adapts to their communication style and developmental needs. I am to create a space where young people feel safe, respected, and empowered to seek support without fear or shame.
Personalised Treatment Plans
No two families are the same, so neither are my treatment plans. I take a holistic view of each child’s mental health. I often involve parents and carers in sessions to ensure we’re working together in a coordinated, supportive way. Alongside therapy or medication, I may recommend adjustments to routines, sleep, diet, or school environment to support emotional regulation and reduce stress.
Medication as One Part of the Picture
As a Psychiatrist, I can prescribe medication for your child if it would be beneficial. However, I approach this conversation with care and transparency, involving young people and families in shared decision-making. I understand that many families have concerns about psychiatric medication, and I take time to explain options clearly, address worries, and ensure that any treatment is reviewed regularly and in line with each child’s evolving needs.
Flexible Support
I offer in-person appointments in London and video appointments online, making it easier for families to access support that fits into their daily lives.
